I've been shooting a lot of senior guys this year, and they were all great, fun, and amazing....but there's just something about a senior girl! Jenni was an awesome one at that. She showed up with all her different looks and was pretty much willing to do anything. She brought her little entourage of Mother, sisters and boyfriend. Not only were they a great audience but also the most helpful of Sherpa too. Jenni is on the Pasco dance team so at the end of the shoot, we tried to capture a few of her moves. Thanks for the great shoot Jenni and I really apologize for calling your boyfriend, your little brother.

Pam & Matt: Wedding Photography, Tri-Cities Washington Wedding

Its really rewarding when you get to meet a couple a year out from their wedding, and watch them plan and prepare, shooting the engagement, watching the moment of their first glance, then finally capturing their wedding day! Such was the case with Pam and Matt. They have become more then clients to us. Keslie and I had such fun teasing Matt, and laughing with them, they are just too much fun. They picked the one day in September to get married that was suppose to be almost always sunny and warm statistically according to Farmers Almanac! Farmers did not disappoint! It was a nice sunny day. I think if we gave out awards this year on our weddings, Pam and Matt would make some marks for sure....now its already assumed that each bride is stunning and fabulous so we don't even try to pick favorites there, but some other categories are fare game. Pam and Matt would win the "Dance your socks off" award. They had more guests at this reception that were totally marathon dancers, including Pam and Matt themselves. They danced and danced and then when they were completely breathless.....they danced some more! I'm sure I lost 10lbs. just watching them!

The other award they would win is............"cutest dog owned by a groom!" I'll save that picture for last.

Another award they would get is.........." easiest going bridal party" award.
I just loved all the groomsmen and bridesmaids, plus the ring bearer....well he stole our hearts for sure!

Matt and Pam we are so happy for you both, and really think you need to capture every moment of your honeymoon....We are already packed!

Wiley is another senior from my Alma mater. Go KeHS Lions! I have to say that I'm having pretty good luck with my seniors from there. They've all been a blast. We had a grand time shooting an old grungy alley. Wiley is a musician and brought along his gorgeous guitar. Unfortunately he forgot the electric one at home. That would have been a blast. Good bye party for the infamous gold velvet couch named Buster! Buster is retiring!

I purchased this amazing couch Buster over a year ago. It has been used in over 30 shoots! I have a request for it almost every week. The thing with Photography is you have to keep pushing yourself to try something new.....This means that I need to say goodbye to this couch and let it find a new home in another part of the country. I have found a buyer in Portland, the couch will continue to grace the walls of homes and live out a glamorous life as it should in another studio. I'm thinking its time for a four poster bed! Ive been on the look out for months. I wanted to make sure and send this couch off in style since it has been such a loyal part of our family this past year. So I'm putting together a send off party on the bluffs over looking the valley, and in the middle of the apple orchard near Benton City. That's where the couch really shines, and it makes families and couples and everyone so happy. I'm opening up 10 slots on October 16th. 15 min sessions, you must not be late or you loose your slot! Dress warmly, it gets cold up on the mountain, not a good thing for very small children or older individuals. You pay upfront to secure your slot. You receive five images to view online, a 16x20 styrene mounted textured print, and a full rights release file of that same shot to use on your websites, or print more copies where ever you want. The session fee is 325.00 . The groups have to be limited to 10 individuals per session. This would be an awesome experience for an office or club, or your pets! The couch loves animals! Most office shots tend to be a bit dry.....this would be a fun conversation piece to hang in your office and a fun memory for your whole staff. Book now and pick your slot! Can't wait to see you on the mountain or in the orchard! One Location will be chosen that day based on best lighting and wind conditions!

Matt & Pam: Wedding Photography, Tri-Cities

Back in May we had the amazing opportunity of driving up to Pullman to shoot Matt and Pam on the WSU Campus. It was beautiful and they were so great to work with. Matt, the Die-Hard Cougar fan loved it that we made that shoot possible. Fast forward to last weekend when we had the opportunity to shoot their first glance and they were still so fun and so great to work with. We spent the whole time laughing and joking. I even conned them into a dinner invitation at Olive Garden at one point. During the shoot, Matt just happened to mention that he'd gotten free tickets and a ride up to go to the WSU game which was going on at that moment. That guy has really got to be in love to be missing his beloved WSU. Thanks for such a wonderful photography shoot. We can't wait to be a part your wedding next weekend!

Baby C

In my years as a photographer, I've had the opportunity to shoot it all. From Grandmas on Harley's to "a little too wild" backyard weddings, but I just have to say that there is nothing more beautiful than the image of a child. Baby C was no different. He was a little unsure of the camera but we still managed to get lots of smiles and adorable looks. Some shoots you walk away drained, some you walk away uplifted. Thanks Baby C for making my day. Colin was so fun to work with. Its always fun when we get to use great props like his car. They don't allow them in yearbook, but that doesn't stop us from having a lot of fun capturing the things that are important and mean something to each senior. I have shot dogs, instruments, sports gear, members of the family, special shoes, and each of these items always tells a story about whats important to them at this time in their life. We also saw lots of spiders on this shoot, this didn't make Brittany too excited, she came to help, and I'm sure wasn't counting on that. The last spider, no kidding had a one inch fat body! I tried to get a shot off but it was dangling too far above our heads and I could have gone and gotten my long lens but it was starting to creep me out. Thanks Colin for being so great, and I really had a lot of fun getting to know you.

Cory: Senior 2011, Hanford High School

Cory's mom and KB Photography go way back so we were really excited when they called us for her youngest son's senior pictures this year. We went over and shot at Anthony's restaurant in Richland first and it was so beautiful there. I'm not sure why this is one of the first times I've shot there. Besides that, the smells wafting out of the restaurant were heavenly. I think Cory and his mother caught me wiping drool more than once. We had a great time and Cory was an awesome subject. Thirteen years ago when my husband and I were first dating, he was sending me an email while I was home for a school break. His 4-year-old niece Shawnie came into the room and asked what he was doing. He told her he was emailing his girlfriend. She looked up at him, her big eyes tearing up and said, "But Uncle Judah, I thought I was your girlfriend...." Well Shawnie, I know we got off to a rocky start, but I'm hoping we're over that now. This shoot was so much fun. Shawnie and her mom flew in from Colorado and we spent the next few days tripping all over the Tri-Cities, hitting all the hot photography spots. Thanks for the visit. This was one of my favorite shoots. You are such a fun and amazingly beautiful girl!

I just love this sweet family. We had another beautiful night in the Tri-Cities. I love shooting at the Wilson Barn, and no matter how many times I do, I always find new little areas so explore. Unfortunately the goat heads were out in full force! It was like a goat head attack! Sometimes the best locations come with drawbacks, and this happens to be the deal with the barn. The river has mosquito's, the fields have snakes, the railroad tracks have jail time. Take your pick. But for those who brave the elements, they often come away very glad they did. Thank you Bagley family for another super night, and for being so great and easy to work with despite those nasty goats.

I have a real soft spot in my heart for redheads. Both my daughters have red hair, or "auburn" as they like to call it. So when I met with Destiny about her session and what we she wanted to create, I was really excited. She is such a doll, and had me completely fooled when it came to her comfort level with the camera. She told me she was so nervous about posing and knowing what to do, but it all came very natural to her, and after the first few frames she was in her zone. There is a real mix of letting the person be "themselves" and knowing which angles and poses will best show off their true beauty. Its one of the things Ive studied the most in photography other then photoshop and editing. It's always amazing to me that some people have a natural relationship to the lens and others do not. Destiny really did! She brought her support group with her (mom,dad,younger brother and Austin). They were so great and helpful even getting wet and lending back support!

We had a lot of fun on this shoot. When Sean drove up, the first thing he said to me was "I hate being photographed!" I always panic a little when someone says this, because it usually means a little rougher shoot than normal. It soon became apparent however that he was just yanking my chain. He was great! I couldn't have asked for a funner shoot with a funner mom and son. They had me laughing the entire time. Thanks Sean and Mom. You guys were amazing and Sean, I'm still jealous...why didn't I get lashes like those!

Every year there are some seniors that just blow me away. They are super fun to shoot, amazing with every detail of their wardrobe choices, and posing comes naturally to them. When you have a senior like this, you really don't want to stop shooting. This was definitely the case with Sam. She is so sweet and amazingly beautiful and she really understood that sometimes details are everything for the camera and the finished look of the portrait, plus she loves trains, that's just cool. I had such a great time with her and her mom, and her own special "prop" that she brought. The only thing better then taking her picture might have been trying on some of her clothes! Ok, I know they wouldn't have fit me, but given my zipper was down for half the shoot, I think I might need a little help in that department! Maybe Samantha could be my personal shopper!

Janae & Steve : Washington Wedding Photography, Tri-Cities, Richland

Janae and Steve are just well............in love, in like, happy, and perfect. I was so thrilled when they asked me to do their engagement and wedding pictures. I just love Janae's family, and was able to shoot her older sisters wedding a few years back. Janae was much younger then, as was I, but don't get me started about that.

There are a lot of amazing things about my job...I make the hours, meeting such amazing families and couples, seeing people at some of the best times of their life, and getting to work with my husband and daughters when I need assistants. Abby came with me on this shoot. She is 11 and just so fun to be around. She has never helped me with an engagement so I was a little nervous about her keeping up. She was a real trooper and had the best time giggling about the "kissing" shots.

I love it when clients bring a cheering section, and Janae's family are just so much fun. Her mom and sister showed up to help and support early on, and then her younger brother and father came to cheer them on at the end.

Lacey & Zack : Tri-Cities Washington, Wedding Photography

I knew when I first sat down with Lacey and Zack that this was going to be a super fun couple. Lacey and Zack explained to me that they were expecting a baby and on their wedding day Lacey would be about 7months along. Everyone in their family was super excited about this baby, and they wanted to make sure and have some fun and celebrate not only the fact that they were getting married but also the fact that this little one was going to be a part of the experience. Somewhere along the conversation their love of guns came up, and then the whole picture of a shot gun wedding shoot was hatched.

Its so fun to collaborate with clients and come up with unique sessions and experiences for them that I haven't done before.

Zack also mentioned he has a John Deere tractor that means a lot to him. He named it "Mater", and being from Alabama, I knew this was serious stuff. In Zack's words... "Ain't nothing like a John Deere named Mater." Mater was going to be a part of the wedding. He would be the "get a way vehicle!"

I knew this would be a super fun experience, but I really didn't know just how fun until the day unfolded. From the ring bearer and flower girl who stole our hearts (they both love getting their pictures taken),

to the whole bridal party that were so willing and fun to work with,

...to the amazing family and friends. Lacey has a special relationship with her father, and her dad just happens to own an amazing car. She wanted to make sure that when she saw her husband for the first time during the " First Glance", in the grove, that her father was the one to see her off on her new life. I need to remember to bring tissues next time. I keep fogging up my lenses!

There is no questions Lacey and Zack have a lot of fun times and love between them.

The event took place at Memories at Sunset in Richland Washington. I love this place and the people running it! Very nice!!

My friend Lee Ann Norris who runs her own Photography business, agreed to help second shoot for me. I was excited since we have been talking about shooting together for awhile, and hopefully I can return the favour in the future.

I want to wish Lacey and Zack a super amazing life together, and I'm so excited for this little baby that's coming very soon. Guns raised, Hats off, and get your tractors rev ed for Lacey and Zack!

Logan and Kaley: Pasco, WA Photographer

"Look at how in Love Logan and Kaley are". "Wow, those two are giving off vibes!" "Have you seen two people more in love?" -Those were just a few of the comments I heard as I was walking around the wedding of Logan and Kaley. The amazing part is that all those comments were true. These two had chemistry and it showed up on the camera. It was such a fun and amazing experience. I'd have to say that Kaley had the best bridesmaid's and pseudo-bridesmaid of anyone I've ever experienced. Kaley didn't have to lift a finger and that included applying her own deodorant. Justin is one of our Seniors for the 2010-2011 season. You'd think a day at the end of July in the Tri-Cities would be 1.bright, 2.sunny and 3.hot. But that day in particular was 1.gray, 2.dark and 3.not so hot. We braved the drizzly rain and Justin worked hard for the camera. The result was a great shoot with a new great client. What a good looking guy. Justin, you did awesome. Have a great senior year and good luck avoiding all the girls.

Chase & Jillian; Tri-Cities Wedding Photography

Ive often thought it would be fun to do a KB Top Amazing List for each year. The categories would be.... Most Photographic Wedding Cake, Wedding Dress, Best Dance moves at a reception, heaviest bouquet, highest wedding shoes worn, Most Photographic Wedding Sky....and so on. I think that would be a fun thing to do. I know right away what would make the tops list for Chase and Jillian's day.

Ive never heard a more beautiful heart felt set of vows that were hand written and given with such sweet emotion. I was crying like a baby, and that's not good when you are trying to take shots with a long lens from a distance.

"Best Dip" would also be awarded to Chase and Jillian. Without any instruction whatsoever, they went right into a beautiful dip for us topped off with a passionate kiss and lots of feeling.

Then there were her hands. Now as photographers we see alot of hands. Close up shots require it. Jillian could be a hand model for sure. Its not easy at all sometimes to know exactly how to make your hands look good to a camera, but somehow Jillian's hands knew exactly how to be, and with such grace each time. It makes our job 10 times easier on those tight shots.

The last but certainly not least "top" for this wedding, had to be the Cupcake tower~! This seems to be a popular item this year, but Jillian collects everything "Cupcake" and has for sometime. So this girl knows her stuff, and the cupcake tower was AMAZING~!

We had such an amazing fun sweet time at this wedding. I went home with renewed determination to be a better wife, and a craving for cupcakes.....

Deana could be described as many things, very petite, sassy, so fun...but what really stands out is just how good you feel being around her. She makes you feel special and she is so calm even when things got a little bumpy as they do during any wedding day. Tim could be described as very tall, very soft spoken, really sweet....but what really stands out is also his easy going nature. What an amazing couple! We feel so truly fortunate that they trusted us with capturing this fabulous day they had put so much thought and care into. Jevin & Andrea: Wedding Photography Tri-Cities Washington

You couldn't ask for a more perfect day here in Tri-Cities. Light breeze, amazing skies, and Andrea and Jevin were such a fun and easy going couple. If I had tried to count the number of kisses they gave each other through out the wedding day it would have been in the hundreds. Likewise, if I had to name all the new dance moves I witnessed that night......not sure I could. Im pretty sure some of them were invented right there on the spot. Russ & Laura: Port Angeles Wedding, Washington Photography

My daughter and husband did the whole "Forks Twilight" tour a year ago.She has read the Twilight books about eight times each and had to see the mother land first hand. When they returned they told me how beautiful the area was. I vowed if I ever had the chance I wanted to go and see it for myself. To my great excitement, I received a call from a relative about the need for a photographer for their sons wedding in Port Angeles! Are you kidding, I'm in! I took the whole family and we spent a couple of days enjoying the sights. I took my first ferry ride, had a raccoon run at me, and enjoyed lots of sightseeing including the "All Things Twilight" store. It was great, I loved the area and hope to go back again sometime. I was able to shoot Russ and Laura's wedding. She is from Port Angeles, and what a sweet and loving bride and groom. I wished I had more time to just spend with both of them but the timeline was a bit tight so I had to take what I could get. It was wonderful seeing our cousins again, and the weather was so awesome, no rain at all! A very rare thing for two days in a row.

Russ and Laura thank you for being so willing to do whatever crazy thing I asked, including trekking down the hillside in high heels and risking getting a little dirty. Hopefully the dress and shoes cleaned up OK, I always feel its worth the risk since your pictures last forever!

You can see in it's eyes it wants me for dinner!

Ritchie Family: Tri-Cities Photography, Richland

I think it should be illegal for one family to have so many adorable and handsome young men! The Ritchie's are such a sweet family and I just love spending time with them. This is the second time Ive been blessed to shoot them. The first time was in their home and remains one of my fondest photography memories.

You would think with this many young men mom would be worried or anxious about photos, but Rebecca is so easy going. Being around her just makes me feel calm. They have fun as a family, and were a real joy to capture. They all have such a great sense of humor. Here's to raising awesome young men, and having the time of your life doing it!

Emily Class 2010: KB Photography, Senior Photography

Emily will probably be the last senior I shoot for class of 2010. She decided to get them done after graduation. We have a certain number of seniors who do this every year. I'm so grateful that I was able to end class of 2010 with such a wonderful client. Her mother and little sister came along for support and assistance. We were literally eaten alive by a strong mass of swarming mosquito's. I hadn't packed my yearly supply of spray in my bag yet, since usually this is not a concern until later in the summer. Emily is a beautiful young lady and was so great to work with. Her mom was so thoughtful and brought me a drink and yogurt snack from McD's down the road! I just loved talking wih her little sister. I hope that someday we are lucky enough to do her senior pictures as well.

Boothe Family: Tri-Cities Photographers

Keslie and I have been so fortunate that all of our clients end up being our friends. We witness many special moments in their lives. We watch the children grow up and graduate from high school, get married, have children. It is always an honor to be there to document those important times.

We also have friends that end up trusting us to be our clients! This is the case with the Boothe Family. Tracie is a dear friend and Ive seen her two beautiful children grow up these past 7 years right before my eyes. Her daughter is good friends with my oldest, and is such an amazing young woman. We have laughed together, cried together, all the together stuff. So when she asked us to take their family pictures which she doesn't take lightly! (most moms don't) I really wanted to see her happy.

The great part of doing the Boothe Family is that they come with ideas, rockin props, and lots of willingness to really get something special. Tracie should teach classes on how to prepare for a photoshoot. She spends a lot of time working up the outfits, thinking about locations, and making sure all the details are attended to, nails, hair, matching socks! You dads know what Im talking about.

The weather didn't want to hold out on us so this is only part one, we will have to do another to finish what we started.

Thanks again Boothe Family for your friendship, and willingness, but most of all that amazing Surf Board. Rock On Dude!

And yes....they do infact surf as a family its one of many sports they enjoy together.

Bleazard Family: Tri-Cities, Washington Photographer

The Bleazard family consists of 22 people. Two parents, ten children, three spouses and 7 grandchildren and all of them beautiful. They own a dairy out in the Basin and it is beautiful! We shot and shot and shot and shot. It started to rain and we just kept shooting. There were so many cool and wonderful places there. Tips for the budding photographer-Dogs, Cats, 4-wheelers and motorcycles make cranky grandkids happy. What a fabulous family! Thanks letting us get to know you Bleazards.

We were able to shoot little Alyssa for Preschool pictures earlier this year. She was so stinkin' cute and obviously we were thrilled when her mom called for a family shoot. A group this size and this age usually ends up being fairly challenging, but we were up for the task and the Brocks behaved admirably. At one point, we had an awol child and I asked her to help me take her father's picture. She thought it was the coolest thing in the world. I'm spreading the photography disease. Nothing worse than a 2 1/2 year old with a camera. Thanks Brocks for all the hard work!

There are certain clients that just make this job pure joy. This family is one that we have grown to love so much. Several years watching this little bundle of love and joy grow up has been nothing but rewarding and fun each time we meet. Something you can always count on when Caroline is around is that you will get a good workout. Another thing that was new this time was the moments where she went high fashion on us. This little girl is headed for "Stunning" when she grows up. Let me be one of the first ones to warn you. Not everyone relates to the camera the same, and children especially can be challanging to capture their inside essence when a camera is in their view, just as hard to pose, and get them to do things that dont make much sense to them. But Caroline surpised us this time by having moments where she was so focused and "worked the camera" as we call it. What a joy!

Its Raining Its Pouring.........That would describe most of the shoot conditions and the three times we had to cancel or stop shooting this Amazing Senior. Being in this business means you get to meet all kinds of people in all stages of their life, and they usually are celebrating something when we meet them. We met Kaley back in High School. We worked with her on senior pictures, and she was a joy to work with. Fast forward a few years, and now we get to see her in love and excited to be married. Meeting Logan her fiance it was very obvious that these two had a lot in common, had fun together, and they adored each other. They tell us it all started with a Led Zeplan shirt, green dress, and something to eat at Red Robin. So Keslie and I just sat back and let the lens tell the story. Its really hard to fake "In love" in front of a camera and make it feel real. Somehow chemistry always seeps through to the finished print and when two people have it, it makes our job very effortless. I don't know how we ended up with so many amazing couples this season, but we are so excited to see them all on their wedding day very shortly. It just makes me want to pick up a guitar and start singing!

So we love this couple so much that we WILLINGLY drove the 2+ hours to Pullman to shoot them on WSU's fabulous campus. It was such a fun photo shoot. Half the time. I had to remember to hold the camera still because I was laughing so hard. The only drawback was the weather. Right as I was focusing in for the first of many amazing shots, we were hit with hail. Hail-Schmail...we shot through it and had some really great images. Thanks so much for the fabulous trip guys. You were amazing and oh yeah, Matt-Sweet jump shot!

When we shot Meghann and Paul a few weeks ago for their first glance, they were the most elegant and wonderful couple. Together they have five children. So last week when we shot the family, we got to meet everyone. It couldn't have been more perfect. Perfect weather, perfect location, perfect family....well that is minus the ants. Wise words of wisdom to all photographers: don't pose your subject in an ant pile. It makes for uncomfortable pictures.

This wedding was one Keslie and I had been looking forward too for sometime. One reason being that Ashley and Dustin are not only the sweetest couple ever, and so much fun, but the location was one we had never shot at before, The Kennewick First Methodist Church in Old Downtown area. Ive loved the look of this church ever since seeing it for the first time. Ive always wondered what it looked like inside, it is so full of history and I just love the whole look of the Gothic architecture and priceless stained glass windows. Ashley is one of those brides who is just beyond beautiful and Dustin is one of our favorite grooms. They were both so easy to work with and so sweet with each other. There seemed to be fun around every corner, and it was so obvious that Dustin adored Ashley and they had put so much planning into making every detail special for their family and friends. We wish them all the love and happiness they can hold. Here's to one great couple and many many pairs of sunglasses!

Stormy Sweet and Stylin, Tim & Deana, Washington Wedding Photography

Here in the Tri-Cities we don't get too many great thunderstorms. Well, Deana and Tim must be pretty special because Mother Nature came to play on their engagement shoot! Tim has been working hard on restoring his Malibu for the July 4th wedding. Deana's baby is a beautiful Mustang. They both wanted to have some shots with the cars that mean a lot to them and that Tim has been working so hard on. So give us a little wind, some great clouds, and some lightning and then throw in some great rides and you have a great mixture for a fun time. Deana and Tim couldn't be more sweet and easy going, and even as the rain was starting to pour and the lightning was flashing, and the car wouldn't start, neither one of them seemed the least bit undone. We can't wait to capture their wedding day, and know that no matter what happens on that day, it will be great because Deana and Tim will be there!

American Eagle Models Hit Tri-Cities, Washington

Boy does this photo make me feel old. Not only because my daughter is now old enough to have her braces off, and be wishing for her drivers license. But all her friends look like American Eagle Models! I felt so tickled when she asked me to do a fun photo shoot with her and her friends.(Hannah is the one on the far right). I use to take her picture all the time. I'm a photographer, I have two daughters, its bound to happen...a few hundred times a year. Then one day my oldest put her foot down, I think she was about 8 and said, "NOT NOW MOM!" I began hiding my attempts by disguising the camera under clothes, trying to get shots while they weren't looking. By then my children had developed what I like to call, "Lens Radar". So it became harder and harder to get a shot of my children without creating a "situation". ( That word makes me laugh since Jersey Shore, not that Ive ever seen a real episode, only references to it... honest) Since my oldest has now just turned 15, and my youngest 11, their vanity is taking over....(I can get away with saying things like this, cause they don't read the blog) Reading your own moms blog rates about a -9 on the Cool Teen Meter. But the fact is, vanity will get the best of you as a teen, and so she came to me and asked if I could do this photo shoot. What great friends she has. Not only are they all beautiful, but each so amazing in spirit as well. I had such a great time, and best of all I didn't have to hide the camera!

Derek and Jasmine were brave enough to come out and do a shoot with us on a cold cold COLD windy day. They got married a few months back in Seattle and it POURED on their wedding day so they decided to try a First...well maybe "Second" Glance (seems how they are already married) to get some better pictures. You can't even tell that hypothermia was setting in! It's amazing what a little Photoshop can do. Just kidding! The Harker family consists of 1 very cute, very fun mom, 1 easy going fun dad, 3 high energy absolutely adorable little boys and 1 doll of a baby girl who you just want to hug and squeeze because she so stinkin' cute. They were very brave and came out on a rather crisp, breezy day. We managed to find a little respite out of the wind in an apple orchard in Benton City. Add one retro, velvet gold couch and you've got the funnest pictures. The fact that we encouraged jumping on the couch! We sealed the deal for coolness in those boys' eyes. Fab First Glance!

Meriyah and Jered did what we call a "First Glance". Here's a quick explanation: Before the wedding (anywhere from a month before to hours before), the couple gets their wedding gear on, gets all prettied up, and we do a "first glance" in some quiet romantic location of their choice. There they see each other for the first time and we get to be there for it. We photograph the entire experience. It is always amazing. There is so much raw emotiom and it's much more personal than seeing each other for the first time walking down the aisle. Meriyah and Jered's experience was no different. What a fun and beautiful couple. We can't wait to shoot your wedding next month.

Jenette was more than cute, she was more than pretty, she was amazing. You can pretty much explain her shoot like this. I own a pair of glasses just like the one Jenette is wearing in several of the shots. Needless to say, when I put on the glasses, my kids ask me why I look like a bug. When we see Jenette in the glasses, she looks nothing like a bug. She looks like a knock-out. So fun Jenette. We loved working with you.

Is that title too lame? Jennifer is a cheerleader for one of the high schools in the area so we just had to throw in a little cheer for you all to hear. She is such a beautiful senior. Take a look. The pictures speak for themselves. Sometimes in Photography, we feel a lot like Cheerleaders. There is a lot of crazy limb movement, we sometimes scream until we're hoarse, a lot of times we work really hard to get enthusiasm out of our subjects. I hate to say it though, Roy is the only one who would be able to pull off a cute mini-skirt and spankies.

We loved our shoot with Jackie. Not only did we get a super-cute-fun-senior to shoot, but we got her super-cute-fun-family for the shoot too. It was like Jackie had her own fan club following her around. Now that's dedication. It really was fun to get to meet her family. Jackie, you have fabulous eyes and let's just say our photographer's wife will be taking your picture with her to the hair dresser next time just so she can copy those amazingly beautiful highlights. Doesn't it feel good to be at the front end of a trend...and why am I always at the back end?

Notice the healthy respect for the sign (We did not make Jackie go behind the fence with the "No Trespassing" sign, so thankfully no one was almost arrested). Us photographers maybe slow learners, but once we've got it, we're good!

We...the photographers at KB Photography, are officially changing our job titles from photographers to "Photographic Artists". After all, isn't a garbage man now a "Sanitation Engineer". We want nothing more in life than pure pompousness (pretty sure it's a word, but don't check the dictionary). Just kidding. Kidding aside- we are so passionate about our photography. It's not about taking pictures. It's about capturing the story. We want you to get who the people we are capturing are, right when you walk in a room and see the images. That's what we're about.

Soapbox aside, we did this wedding a couple of weeks back, and I love the story we were able to capture through our images. I can honestly say these were some of the kindest, most real people we've worked with. Thanks for a wonderful shoot. Have a fabulous time on the honeymoon.

No Trespassing!!

So sometimes we come back from our shoots with funny little things that happen that make the shoot a little memorable. This shoot, I think, will forever be known as one of the most memorable we've ever experienced. Word of Advice-If the sign says "Stay Out" and "No Trespassing"....do as the signs say. Our shoot with Ruben couldn't have gone better. The entire shoot was just sick (maybe I'm getting old, but that just sounds wrong).

Anyway, our very last stop was this amazing train bridge that went over the Columbia River. We shot it for 15-20 minutes when in the distance, I noticed the lights of a train fast approaching. We jogged off the tracks not thinking much of it when the train conductor chewed us out as he whizzed by in his big locomotive. (That should have been our first clue that we were in trouble). Maybe 30 seconds later, a police vehicle came whizzing up the road at break neck speed, stopped right in front of us, and out jumped a very angry officer of the law.

We were told we were under arrest for trespassing and at the same time got the tongue lashing of our lives. I have never been so afraid in my life. This is a girl that follows all the rules and used to cry when she got pulled over. (I don't do that anymore, I promise). Thanks to the quick thinking of Roy-the other photographer-in-crime. We apologized our way out of arrest and the rather hefty fine.

Needless to say, we've promised to spread the word that trespassing on train property is a federal offense and most of the time they are not that lenient. The next time we are caught we will be thrown in jail. If you want your pictures taken on the Train Bridge-go see Essence Photography-just kidding Eric.

Thanks for the experience Rubin. The train bridge will forever be known as Rubin's place because we wont be taking anyone else there again...

Baby Aadian was illegally cute! A names were all in the family. His parents, Ashton and Alex were so sweet. He was such a super amazing two month old. We were able to do more in his photo shoot than Brook Shields in her prime! Way to go guys! We love this family. This will be our fourth shoot for them are excited to have had such a long and wonderful relationship.

Do you ever have one of those perfect moments when nothing could have gone better. This shoot was one of those moments. Shirah was amazing! The camera talked her language. You can see by the picture that she was all but willing to get in the river with her Prom dress. This is a new concept that we've started doing called Trash-the-Dress. Take a look at the pic we got and you'll see why. The pictures are absolutely phenomenal. If you want pics like these, book now! Aahh....happy sigh.

We shot Samantha Tuesday night and it was fabulous. Samantha is a total knockout (as you can tell by the pictures) and it couldn't have gone better. New Experience-Shooting in the middle of the road, trying to get passing cars' headlights in the pictures. Needless to say, we are all safe and sound. No one or no equipment was run over. Mom did a great job flagging all the oncoming traffic. (Next time we'll bring orange reflective stripey thingies). Thanks Samantha and Lawanda (mom) for such a great time!

We had the privilege of heading out to beautiful Colorado to capture this amazing senior. Not only were her looks right on and her smiles beautiful, she was a doll to shoot. What an amazing fun day, Jenna and Brian are really one of the greatest couples! We had such a great time doing this shoot.
